Strong Nation

Evo Blog – Silvia Moffatt
A catch up with Silvia Moffatt,

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching aerobic and step aerobics classes 20 years ago, when I lived in Germany.

What sets your classes apart from others in the area?

Strong Nation is a unique brand. The class format is designed to challenge participants, and a team of fitness experts comes up with new routines every month. Specially created music drives the movements to the beat and makes the workout fun, while burning lots of calories.

Can you walk us through a typical class session and what participants can expect to learn and take away?

Strong Nation follows a set routine. It’s a 60-minute class starting with a warm-up and a cool-down. The routine consists of four quadrants. Each quadrant focuses on building strength and stamina, aiming to improve upper and lower body strength, core, balance, and flexibility. Combined with plyometric moves (high impact) and martial arts, it’s the ultimate full-body workout.

What do you hope participants will gain from taking your classes?

Improvements in overall strength and cardio fitness, with short bursts of high-intensity moves and the feeling of accomplishment!

What is the best thing about having your classes at the Great Park Community Centre?

I love the location. The class starts straight after school or nursery drop-off at 9 am. With GPCC being next to Brunton First school, it’s great for parents or grandparents who dropped off their children to join the class.
